December 1, 2006 - Got first unexpected call from a brother-in-Christ in Idaho. Brian said he had just found the site and was "so jazzed about it" that he had to call. Thanks for the call and the prayers. Keep you posted.

November 2 , 2006 - Agreed to take the C.a.A. road crew with brother Chris Hughes to Sarasota to compete in the Sarasota Marathon on March 3, 2007. Started a 16-week training plan.

August 12, 2006 - Completed first week-long, road trial going 479 miles in six days from Key West to Temple Terrace (NE Tampa). Total time was just under 28 hours, or an overall average of 17.2 mph.  Next up, Tampa to Atlanta (Stone Mt.). Stay tuned.

July 27, 2006 - Boe, Steve and Jim, drafting around the Flatwoods loop, holding a consistent 24-25 MPH, set a new 3-lap, 25-mile mark of 1:04.

July 22-23 , 2006 - Attended Promise Keepers in Jacksonville. Heard God clearly and specifically expanding the scope of the Christ aCross America ministry.

July 20 , 2006 - Committed to a Key West- to - St. Pete Beach Training Ride to be completed August 7 thru August 12.

July 1, 2006 - First ride in Chris's home of Bradenton. Did 65 miles: Bradenton Beach to Siesta Key and back. Beautiful.

June 17 , 2006 - First mountain training run in Cherokee NC started on Hwy 441 and proceeded north on the Blue Ridge Parkway straight up 13 miles (with no relief). Averaged about 6 MPH going up in an hour and 45 minutes. The ride down was 12 miles in 35 minutes averaging 35-40 MPH without ever pedaling and with two fingers on each brake lever at all times. Check out the Google Earth image.

June 10 , 2006 - First (almost) 100-mile ride: six guys and 97 miles on the Withalacootchie Trail learning equipment and hydration preparedness (10 flat tires and 100 degree heat). Special thanks to Judy and Buz for lunch and the Dunellon guys at the turn who gave us a tire and a couple tubes.

June 3 , 2006 - Celebrated our "one-year-to-go" mark by climbing the hills in San Antonio without ever having to shift off the top ring: a first.

May 27, 2006 - May 22-thru-May 27 capped off a six-day trial-run covering 422 miles around Tampa. That's an average of 70.4 miles per day doing mostly two-a-days. Next trial run: Tampa to Key West. Stay tuned.

May 22, 2006 - First 90+ mile day (52 in the a.m - 40 in the afternoon.)

May 17, 2006 - Perfected the route. With assistance from the Adventure Cycling Association, we were secured detailed maps of the proven route of The TransAmerica Trail (Oregon to Virginia). First mapped over 30 years ago, the trail offers us maps from Missoula MT, to Kentucky. And, with those changes, our route is 3,600 miles, adding five days to the trip.

May 17, 2006 - Finally, after switching stems to raise the handle bars, Boe got into the aero bars for the first time and averaged over 21 MPH out front for an entire lap (7 miles) at Flatwoods; also a first.

May 15, 2006 - First ride skipped due to injury: Boe's low back slipped on both sides and required a day's rest and two visits to the chiropractor.

May 12, 2006 - Met with Jim Lucier; welcomed him officially as Finance Director. Created a plan for a fall 2006 campaign. Set up preliminary meetings with "Corporate Advisory Partners " for first of June.

May 11, 2006 - Building speed: hanging in draft at 23, 24, 25+ MPH for extended runs; a first for Boe. The 25 miles averaging over 21 (21.1) is also a first.

May 9, 2006 - Connected with Mike Todd in Port Angeles WA. He becomes our first, official "local-partner" representing Jesus Christ in his home church in Port Angeles, and representing the tour as a host coordinator. See detailed route  for info.

May 8 , 2006 - Dave spends the morning of his 33rd birthday doing the first 80-mile (straight -through) ride in five hours. Happy Birthday.

May 6 , 2006 - the "Saturday Group" does Flatwoods for the first time. Scott, Steve, Steve's neighbor Dave and Jim do 55 miles averaging 22.5 MPH. Dave and Boe hung in there a while but have some serious work to do still.

May 1 , 2006 - Dave suggests doing the tour in reverse: Seattle to Jacksonville. Boe, Dave and Jim and others looked at the merits and decided to make the change. Getting through the Rockies first was a big factor, as was the prevailing winds, elevation and the thought of riding toward (and not away from) our home state.

Apr 28, 2006 - First two-a-day for Dave. That's 16 miles off-road with co-worker Torin Bradt, and 30 miles in the wind at Flatwoods. Congrats to Torin and Kara for their baby boy Ryan Christopher Bradt.

Apr 27, 2006 - A Godly message on equipment and preparedness: first the rain, then Dave's flat tire episode, then Boe blows a spoke - all within the first 14.5 miles today. Yes Lord. We are listening.

Apr 26, 2006 - Boe's first 80+ mile day; 40 in the a.m. and 41 after lunch.

Apr 24, 2006 - First sub-one-hour 18-mile run at Flatwoods for Boe.

Apr 18, 2006 - Uncle Dave goes 25 in the draft without the ouch. Alright Dave.

Apr 15, 2006
- First tour of the hill country in San Antonio (FL) with the Saturday Group; Jim D., Steve, Ron Titus, and Scott (Lance) Dickinson. For some it was 7 mph up and about 38 mph down! Slower riders averaged just under 18 mph in the back.

Apr 6, 2006 - Steve Florence makes it to the Flatwoods 6:30 a.m. circuit for the first of what will surely be many rides out front.

Apr 4, 2006 - Uncle Dave's first ride on his new (used) Trek 1000 speeder. That was 18 miles of Ouch!

Apr 3, 2006
- Uncle Dave (David Johler) agrees to "do the whole trip" as a rider and "route director".

Mar 29, 2006 - Launched Web site

Mar 17, 2006 - after two 18-mile rides (in the draft) at Flatwoods behind Jim D., Boe retired his 17-year-old, steel-frame, Diamond Back and bought a used, 8-year-old, aluminum frame Schwinn Super Sport for $300. What a difference. Plan to upgrade again this fall. See the "LOG" for a complete training recap.

Mar 14, 2006
- began training at Flatwoods Park in New Tampa with Jim Dunphy.

Mar 2006

Fall 2005
- Prayer. Decided God was calling Boe to do the trip.
