I was homeless, depressed, dependant on drugs and alcohol, fatherless, stricken with cancer, Alzheimer ’s or some other disease. I was mentally ill, or physically disabled or just economically excommunicated. I may have even been your neighbor or in the office next to you.
Whatever the situation, the truth is, faithful followers of Jesus Christ were willing to go into the war zone and pull me out; willing to minister to me, to provide tangible assistance, and in the process lead me to a personal relationship with Jesus.
The faithful followers I am talking about here are the ones who dig trenches, feed the hungry, hold my hand. Whatever they do, they donate time, money and their souls as if Jesus himself were walking among us. And He is, only through them; through you.
The problem is, too few really notice the impact that these followers; mostly upstart, under-resourced and under-recognized ministries are having in transforming the lives of the lost and suffering.
That’s our challenge.
Christ aCross America is a ministry organization living its mission to create awareness and support for the ministries who are doing the work in the war zone for Jesus Christ, and in the process, leading more people to personal relationships with Him.
From our Family
We believe everyone should know the truth about Jesus Christ, His purpose for their lives the eternal future only He offers.
Only, to the lost and the suffering, it takes a willing witness, a missionary, a servant, to bring the Good News; to pour their lives into others so that they might live.
If that sounds to you a lot like Jesus, it should. He is the purpose of our lives and our eternal hope. He helped our family arrive at a place in 2006 where we could consider ourselves missionaries first, wherever we were, every minute of every day. We want the same for you.
We looked at the lost and the suffering in our area and we saw Christians going in to the tough places to make a difference and ultimately to lead people to Jesus.
We set on a cross country tour by bicycle in the summer of 2007 to find and learn from and promote and support the local churches, ministries and missionaries God would place in our path - those people who are really allowing Jesus Christ to use them in the hard places in America. We call it the war zone.
And it's everywhere. It's right outside your door.
Every Christian can believe that Christ's Great Commission was for them; and for you.
Matt 28:18-20 (NIV) - Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Those are marching orders and a constant mind set for warriors who are willing to take a stand for Him and Take up your Cross.
Mark 8:34 (NIV) - Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
So much of my personal reading and journaling in His Word is trying to understand what "following" and "going" look like for me.
I decided to learn what that means by seeing what "following" and "going" looks like for others.
By highlighting and featuring ministries that inspire others to know Christ, I see our ministry doing its small part to move the kingdom closer for one youth, one parent, one family member, one employee, one business owner, one lost soul at a time.
